About Us
Our Story
Welcome to The Perfect Fit Kit, founded by Sarah Lavelle and Bev Jenner. In 2004, Sarah pioneered the first online saddle trial service, responding to a critical shortage of qualified Saddle Fitters. This innovative approach empowered horse owners to better assess saddle fit at home, filling a crucial gap in equine care.
As horse owners increasingly sought advice after unknowingly using ill-fitting saddles, Sarah and Bev realised the need for proactive saddle fit monitoring. During the 2020 lockdown, they reimagined the kit's purpose: not to replace professional fitters, but to bridge the communication gap between owners and fitters for the welfare of horses.
Beyond saddle fitting, The Perfect Fit Kit is a vital tool for collaboration with physios, body workers, and instructors. By regularly templating their horse's backs, owners can track topline development and monitor any unevenness or muscle loss early on.
The Perfect Fit Kit is an essential tool for every tack room. It enables horse owners to regularly monitor back changes and engage proactively with their horse's team, ensuring prompt adjustments and preventing discomfort. Subtle shifts in a horse's behaviour often signal underlying issues—our kit helps catch these early, safeguarding both horse and rider.
Endorsed by over 20 leading equine experts, our mission is simple: empower horse owners to collaborate with professionals in maintaining optimal saddle fit. With our easy-to-use, affordable kit, you can enhance your horse’s comfort and well-being.

Most of the time, the first sign of a problem is when your horse starts to compensate. It could be a subtle change in their way of going, or more drastic behaviours such as bucking & rearing under saddle.
If you know your horse has changed shape, you could have prevented the pain, discomfort or injury (not to mention all the expense that goes with it) long before your horse has to compensate.
